The learning theories map fits into instructional design by
showing the different learning theories and what specific skills they
develop. I believe the use of more
technology in the classroom will rely upon the social learning theory and
cognitive learning theory more than the behavioral learning theory. These two learning theories seem tailored for
the use of technology, especially the web and all of its resources, because the
cognitive theory develops information processing skills and the social learning
theory is highly dependent on the learning environment. Students these days love technology and using
the internet, so the ideal learning environment for today’s students is one
where technology and the internet are heavily used. The use of web resources develops cognitive
skills, because it requires the processing of large amounts of information rather
quickly to develop concepts and link between them.
