Mind Mapping Tools

The two mind mapping tools that I investigated were Glinkr and Bubbl.us. I chose these two tools because they are free resources on the web. Mind mapping tools allow a teacher to create Venn diagrams and other similar presentations materials.

I found Glinkr to be very confusing and difficult to use. I was not user-friendly from my experience. I found it easy to add boxes and text to create my diagrams, but it was difficult to connect them using the arrows that they provide. Overall, I did not enjoy my experience with Glinkr.

On the contrary to Glinkr, I found Bubbl.us to be easy to use and a lot of fun to work with.  Instead of text boxes, bubbles are used to insert text. I could choose any color and size that I wanted the bubbles to be, and it was very easy to insert text and connect the various together. I developed a sample Venn diagram using Bubbl.us that shows conjugation of regular –ar, -er, and –ir verbs in the present tense in Spanish. Take a look at what I created below:

  1. I had very similar experiences Pia. I enjoyed using bubbl.us and found it easy to use while Glinkr was much more difficult. Your map looks great!
